IGP has been part of the television landscape in Canada and around the world for over 3 decades. Under veteran producer, Bernie Zukerman, IGP has delivered Canada’s most successful docu-dramas. IGP successfully turned its attention towards series and mini-series, while keeping a special place in its heart for historical drama and stories of extraordinary triumphs. This family-run, boutique production company is now led alongside the steady hand of Rayne Zukerman, Bernie’s daughter, and has since produced several high-quality scripted dramas currently being aired around the globe.

    Winner of the Gemini for Best TV Movie, The Squamish Five tells the story of the notorious anarchist/urban guerrilla warriors in British Columbia in the 1970s who violently protested the government and corporations and were eventually captured by the RCMP.

    Love and Hate: The Story of Colin and Joann Thatcher

    The mini series follows the deteriorating relationship of Saskatchewan politician Colin Thatcher and his wife Joann. After Joann sues for divorce Colin begins a series of clumsy attempts to have her killed, and is eventually successful. He is arrested, and after a sensational trial, convicted of her murder. It won five Gemini Awards, Best Director, Best Dramatic Mini-series, Best Actor, Best Photography and Best Writer, numerous international prizes and was the single most watched entertainment program of the year. Love and Hate was the first foreign program ever sold to an American network, and when NBC aired it in the summer of 1991, it topped the audience charts and finished number one for the week.

    Conspiracy of Silence

    A young aboriginal woman, Helen Betty Osborne, is raped and murdered in The Pas, Manitoba. Her assailants are known and yet, because of prevailing bigotry and racism, are protected until a special investigation of the crime. It was broadcast to great acclaim on CBC. It was then purchased by CBS and when it was aired in the United States in August of 1992 was once again a critical and financial success.

    A poignant and intimate depiction of the daily lives and struggles of the Canadian servicemen who took part in the tragic and mismanaged raid on Dieppe during World War II. This beautifully written and produced drama is recognized as one of CBC Television’s most ambitious projects to date and won the Gemini for Best Dramatic Mini-series. Dieppe aired in January 1994 becoming immediately both a commercial and critical success, and was subsequently sold around the world.

    Million Dollar Babies

    Winner of four Gemini Awards, this is the exceptional story of the early years of the Dionne Quintuplets and the struggles of the various people and groups attempting to exploit, control and care for them. Premiered on CBC and CBS Television in November 1994, it was the first time CBS pre-licensed a Canadian production. It was the highest rated entertainment program of the season on CBC and helped CBS win the November sweeps. Prior to broadcast, this four hour mini-series had been sold around the world.

    Niagara Motel

    In Niagara Motel, a group of struggling individuals cross paths at a low-rent motel in the tourist Mecca of Niagara Falls. The main characters are: a knockout waitress being recruited to star in low budget porn videos, a young couple with a criminal past struggling to recover their child from social services, and a middle class husband and wife in a marriage that is disintegrating in near record time. The story also includes a woeful drunken motel manager, and a prostitute working to support two small children. The needs of these people, their obvious failings and the unlucky conditions of their lives make them so vulnerable that they careen from the disturbing to the hilarious in a breathless instant. In this story, tragedy waltzes with unpredictable comedy in an intense dance of life.
